Introduction Fishing industry: is any industry or activity concerned with taking, culturing, processing, preserving, storing, transporting, marketing or selling fish or fish products . Fishery economics deals with: The production, distribution, and consumption of fish and seafood and all financial aspects of the fishing and seafood industry (including aquatic life in fresh water). The World Bank supports Africa’s commitment to invest in sustainable fisheries as a way to build the resilience and improve the livelihoods of coastal communities.
